Is it nearly summer yet?
01.28.05 (10:36 am)   [edit]

Question: What do you do when you live in a place which never gets cold, and it gets cold?

Answer: You wear everything you can lay your hands on.

The weather forecast last week said we were in for some bad weather. We took no notice. By the end of the week they were warning of severe weather. A cold front was heading this way from Siberia…Oh yeah, that’ll be a first. It was, and is FREEZING! Over night it’s been dropping to below freezing point and during the day it’s staying in single figures (centigrade).

I’ve just been out to the shop, feeling like a bit of a prat in two jumpers. The woman behind the counter looked like a Telly Tubby, with arms sticking out at right angles to her body because of the amount of clothes she had on. We were laughing at each others sartorial elegance when one of my neighbours came in, wearing her bath robe over her clothes. She said she’d just seen her friend cleaning her windows wearing a long evening dress, under which she wore her pyjamas, a pair of jeans and two shirts. Who said country folk aren’t stylish!

Ooh! How exciting! Will you get snow even?

We've been having the usual boring gray winter, daytime temperatures around 10C, night down to 3 or 4, but tomorrow it's supposed to reach 16C in the daytime. That's SPRING! But then... (the weatherman was SO excited) from the beginning of next week a cold front from Siberia (perhaps yours, once you've finished with it) is coming down and it's supposed to get down to -3C.

Everybody in Japan will catch cold. Just watch.

Oh we've had enough of Siberian cold fronts now, it's all yours. Just remember, if you're looking for Siberian cold front fashion tips, think Telly Tubby.

The weather has gone crazy. it was 38 degrees celcius here today and pouring rain. I think mother nature is getting confused and mixing up her countries.

What a visual! Finally, a good reason to wear those evening dresses that never get worn a second time. My advice to you, dear? Think pantyhose. Several pair layered one on top of the other. I assure you, they are very warming.

I am already Tubby in winter. They don't seem to have heard of insulation in this country.

Ahhh, if only people here had the inhibitions to just dress in ways that keep them warm. Alas, instead they are so driven by style they look like they're freezing half the time!!!

As for the cold snap.....global warming? Anybody? Is the weather just getting stranger every year, or is it just me?

Cheers!
