waiting
01.10.05 (7:06 am)   [edit]

Is it possible for a house to look as if it’s waiting? I saw this house yesterday and it fascinated me. It stands completely alone on the beach, looking over The Straits to North Africa.

I want its owners to be romantics, but think they merely own the key. The elements own this house.

It’s waiting.

The pic sends a shiver down my spine, because somewhere, I've seen that house before and I think tis been waiting a long time.

I think you should buy it, and stick a pirate flag on the roof.

Also, I think it needs a wan face at a window, preferably one of the upper windows.

Yes, a wan face with a flickering of candlelight.

*Or* colorful banners hanging and penants flying. With trumpets.

Actually what's truly amazing to me is that you call this structure a "house". Not a little castle, not a fairy-tale tower, not an monument breathing stories of heros and princesses and unrequited love: a house!

It looks like it has electricity: are they selling it?

Maybe I could run it through Photoshop and put the wan face up there.
As soon as I saw the pic I knew I wanted to change it grey scale. I was going to blot out the power line, but decided keeping it in made it look more spooky. So yes, it has got power, but no I don't think it's for sale. From what I could see it's very much lived in.

Oh Mimi I hate to tell you this, but there was a surf board propped up outside the front door. Maybe La Señora de la Casa goes surfing in her ball gown, in which case we can forget long silky hair!

Ooooh! Spooky! It's the kind of photo that should have come out with a mysterious bright spot somewhere on it - from strange unknown forces, of course!

Nice pic. the grey tones gives it a surreal and spooky quality!

I could sure use a place like that where I could roam the halls while letting out tragic sighs. *sigh*

Maybe it's the Senor de la Casa that has the long flowing hair as he surfs?
