But we have candy on hand just in case! I had one trick or treater (my son). Most of them head off to the "friendly" neighborhoods (i.e. the ones without low income housing across the street). We had pumpkins though! Have a happy day! posted by: IzzyMe (reply) post date: 11.01.04 (9:29 am) Just give them treats, let them do the tricks....... Instead of shutting the windows, give them candies, you never know, someday you may need candies and there, they are to hand you a flavor to add to your life :) posted by: flaring (reply) post date: 11.01.04 (11:11 am) I didn't give any candy this year. I'm the mean old lady who won't let them climb the tree in my front yard and this year didn't give them any sweets either. Bah, humbug! Oh wait, that's later.... PS--come see my blog again. It has new words in it! posted by: rosietulips (reply) post date: 11.01.04 (1:58 pm) Where are the action shots? ;-) *L* Did you really yell at the kids? Next year, have some candy ready :-) We kept our lights off, but the kids still came ringing the doorbell! posted by: lynne (reply) post date: 11.01.04 (2:40 pm) Yeah, you have to give them candy. I never get any trick or treaters at my house. It is kind of a bummer. posted by: newbie (reply) post date: 11.01.04 (4:51 pm) You think you are funny???? posted by: Andaloo (reply) post date: 11.01.04 (8:49 pm) Reply to: newbie Well, given the choice between thinking I was funny and thinking I was Clever by leaving anonymous comments I’ll stick with thinking I’m funny. posted by: VodkaB (reply) post date: 11.02.04 (12:33 am) Never again. I think I sewed the loopy bits to the wrong end of the pole thing so its all wonky. And one of my gardening gloves has gone missing *nods* Oh no wait...I used it to make the loopy things.. *confused* Candy *blinks* Don't give them any if they look like they'll be bouncing off the walls like I do. posted by: SusanofPudlin (reply) post date: 11.02.04 (2:29 am) My recomendation is that you have a penny jar by the door just in case. Toss a handful of pennies (or pesos) into the tricksters little cunning pumpkins and be done with it. Regarding the window treatments - that is what we call them, window treatments.... good job! But an alternative to all that sewing is a stapler. Or iron on tape that you put between the two layers and press. Voila! posted by: NurseNancy (reply) post date: 11.02.04 (11:47 am) SoP is correct they are "window Treatments" but here in New England we rely on good old Yankee ingenuity and what you did with the curtains certainly demonstrated that well! And as for the trick or treaters, listen to everyone, give candy. it works!! and you can eat the left overs so get stuff that you like!! posted by: TorryGirl (reply) post date: 11.03.04 (11:38 pm) Here's the thing about trick or treating - you get to choose. Trick or treat? If you say trick they won't know what to do! On the down side, they'll probably jsut throw things at your house. But it's good fun if they try. And you don't HAVE to give them candy after they do their trick. You can just tell them to bugger off! Best of both worlds! posted by: irishgirl28 (reply) post date: 11.07.04 (7:21 pm) hello my mr. andaloos......i would love to educate you on the american tradition of all hallows eve...but i don't give the buggers candy anymore...they stole from me a few years back....as for the curtains....all i can say is that martha stewart would be so proud of you both.....hoover...that's a gas! love ya...irishgirl |
