You go to buy a sandwich, and discover that a strawberries and fake cream sandwich is considered a valid food option. The other day I ordered a salad and as well as oil and vinegar dressing they'd put blueberry jam on it. That was fairly surprising, too, and scraping it off was tricky. posted by: TorryGirl (reply) post date: 10.09.04 (6:10 am) maybe they were working on the principle that foods that are the same shape should work well together! posted by: Mimi (reply) post date: 10.09.04 (7:38 am) you say it like it's something BAD! My Turkish roommate puts yoghurt on EVERYTHING....but got mad when she grabbed my VANILLA yoghurt! not my fault! oh, and crushed red pepper, too! xoxox posted by: NurseNancy (reply) post date: 10.09.04 (7:44 am) I always encourage my children to develop culinary skills. I figure, they will eventually learn and then maybe someone will cook for me!Sometimes the results are a little less than stellar. My youngest once made "Hay Soup" yup, that's what she used!! posted by: SusanofPudlin (reply) post date: 10.09.04 (5:51 pm) Thanks. I just spit water all over the PC. BANANA yogurt? How revolting! But the ham and cheese fish.... I would have been tempted to do something painful to the one what dreamt up that abhorrent creation! posted by: Mimi (reply) post date: 10.10.04 (7:15 am) oh, i just remembered...one time after the holidays, i tried to make "welsch rabbit" using some cheddar cheese that had wine swirled through it! Sam got home and said WTF is that!!!! LOL! it was too disgusting to look at! and he was always the meat and potatoes kind of guy anyway! xoxox posted by: Ladyblog (reply) post date: 10.10.04 (9:00 am) Sounds like Monday night around here... when I get rid of all the leftovers in the fridge before doing the weekly shopping. It's amazing the stuff you can come up with when you don't think about it too hard! ;) My son loves banana yogurt? He likes it with blueberries in it... Bon apetite! Whew. posted by: Andaloo (reply) post date: 10.10.04 (1:05 pm) Reply to: badaunt To have things "considered valid food stuff" sounds to me like having to take responsibility, that will NEVER do! What would people like Kentucky Mc King do if they were held accountable for ingrediants? However, I do say what this world needs is more blueberry jam! posted by: Andaloo (reply) post date: 10.10.04 (1:06 pm) Reply to: TorryGirl Yup, fishfinger lollies work for me every time. posted by: Andaloo (reply) post date: 10.10.04 (1:08 pm) Reply to: NurseNancy Mmmm that must have tasted ex-staw-ordinary! *rolls eyes* sorry. posted by: Andaloo (reply) post date: 10.10.04 (1:10 pm) Reply to: SusanofPudlin Oh I'll keep you posted, that was by no means a bad one! posted by: Andaloo (reply) post date: 10.10.04 (1:15 pm) Reply to: Ladyblog I think "when you don't think about it" are the operative words here. Banana yoghurt and mashed spuds? mmmmm TTFN posted by: Andaloo (reply) post date: 10.10.04 (1:21 pm) Reply to: lynne The problem is sometimes the "surprise" is worth eating. I for one would not turn my nose up at icecream and fries! (French, not freedom.) posted by: SusanofPudlin (reply) post date: 10.10.04 (1:23 pm) Reply to: Andaloo PLEASE do! Mimi and I are sisters, in the event that you did not know. Our mother was a really good cook. But the couple of times she screwed up - she REALLY screwed up. There was an incident with Boston Baked Beans.... and cohog chowder. I shudder to remember them. Oh, and cranberry meat loaf! Now I am sure that sister will chime in with more, or different ones. posted by: Andaloo (reply) post date: 10.10.04 (1:26 pm) Reply to: Mimi Yoghurt on everything sounds good to me as long as it's plain or Greek (is there a difference)? Sorry Mimi, got to say the Welsh Rarebit with red wine sounds like a stomach turner. ACCCKKKK! ;) posted by: Ladyblog (reply) post date: 10.13.04 (1:48 pm) Reply to: Andaloo don't forget the blueberries! TTFN |
