Are we all sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin...
09.18.04 (10:41 am)   [edit]

I’m reading “The Unbearable Lightness Of Being” (Milan Kundera) and wondering how I haven’t come across this book before now. It’s wonderful.

I keep going back and reading passages for a second or third time. It’s a bit like taking two steps forward and one step back, but that’s OK because I just don’t want it to end. It’s been ages since I read something which totally pulled me in.

Has anybody else found this jewel?

I found it nearly 20 years ago, before it became famous. It was in my town library and I liked the title.

Shortly after that it was made into a movie, and everybody was raving about it to me, and I was feeling annoyed because they hadn't listened when I raved about it.

It's a WONDERFUL book. Must read it again.

I haven't read the book, but I did see the movie when I was in college. My boyfriend at the time called it "The Unbearable Longness of Movies." I couldn't disagree with him.
