Hello, Andaloo!! Long time no see :-O I hope all is well :) posted by: juniperflux (reply) post date: 07.12.05 (7:40 am) There's a painting by Degas called Interior that comes to mind when I look at your postcard. The main subject of the painting is a woman dressing in a barely lit room... but in the shadows you can see a man leaning against the wall watching her. Depending on your frame of mind, the work can be seen as either quite beautiful and intimate or truly disturbing. Either way, I like the multiple layers of it in the same way that this postcard appeals to me. Thank goodness you scanned it, eh? posted by: badaunt (reply) post date: 07.12.05 (11:46 pm) I love it. I love the way the story of the picture changes when you see the boy. It has also inspired my next blog post. posted by: TorryGirl (reply) post date: 07.13.05 (1:27 am) That must have been a little creepy, to suddenly have a person appear in a photo where there wasn't one before... posted by: lindy (reply) post date: 07.13.05 (8:24 am) Boy, he sure is looking right at the camera, eh? As sinister as this picture appears, I bet he's really thinking, 'Man, that woman can gab for ages. When are we going to the park?!' posted by: jennjr (reply) post date: 07.15.05 (6:57 am) Ooo, that's kind of creepy! It's kind of like those stories of people who take rolls of film to get developed and find images of ghosts in them... posted by: NurseNancy (reply) post date: 07.17.05 (7:52 am) I found it a bit disconcerting at first. But look at it a little longer, and you see a little boy just patiently waiting for his mom "to get off the phone, already!" posted by: dangerkitty (reply) post date: 07.17.05 (6:44 pm) Freaky! If you look closely you can make out another face above the boys head. posted by: newbie (reply) post date: 07.24.05 (11:26 am) obviously the boy arrived from the woman's hips posted by: librarianguish (reply) post date: 07.25.05 (7:36 am) Well, that is a bit strange, isn't it? Dark and sinister. |
